The potion classes are a 1hr session designed for between 10-30 people to attend depending on the venue. I charge either £12.50 per potion maker or a price can be discussed for larger events.

It's a super simple yet highly effective way of getting herbs into your everyday life and these classes are suitable for all age ranges.

With an adult assisting young children these sessions are very sensory and depending on the participants I would tailor the sessions to be aimed at either adults or families.

I can travel within Sussex for potion classes or I can host them at WoWo Campsite.

FAQ’s

  • The potion class and my herbal alter-ego Professor Primrose was born out of a herbal offering in 2018 at The Good Life Festival in Wales founded by Cerys Mathews, I was part of the Axe and Paddle tribe. After creating the potion class workshop and delivering it to hundreds of people at this festival at back to back potion classes for adults I brought it back to the campsite and have been developing it ever since.

I also ran 'Stinky potion' classes daily at Wakehurst gardens as part of their horrible science Easter event in 2019, with a full team of potion masters helping out.  We had costumes and a potion selfie frame and it was SO much fun..... as well as being educational of-course.

  • I run regular potion classes at wowo campsite for the campers, these have been a huge hit with families who come back year upon year to make a different potion and saying it's their favourite workshop at wowo! To find out when the potion classes are running at wowo look at their calendar here and book your space via the wowo website if you're local and would like to come along, you don't have to be a camper to book the potion class.

I have a range of around 30 different dried herbs in jars that I teach the participant's about and then each potion maker blends their own personalised potion under my guidance.

They take their potions home to brew for 4-6weeks and then strain them to drink them and receive the healing benefits from the herbs they have chosen.

The potion parties would equally suit a birthday party for a 50yr old or a 5yr old, they could make a really fun team building activity or I've also offered this to groups such as scouts or school groups.

  • So you've been to one of my potion classes and have lost your leaflet that reminds you what to do with your potion once it's ready to strain!

Here are the details again to remind you :)

After you've had your potion brewing for between 4-6 weeks, it's ready to strain and drink!

All of the healing qualities from the herbs you have chosen have been extracted and preserved into your potion liquid...

If you happen to have totally forgotton about your potion after many months or even longer... It's most likely to still be fine! As long as there is not a layer of mould ontop of the jar then go ahead and strain it and use it up (you may have a scoby formed on the top which is absolutely fine!).

    - Using a jug and a fine mesh sieve and ideally a piece of muslin cloth as well, strain your potion. I like to squeeze the muslin cloth so I get out every last bit!

-Add the plant material to the bin or compost, rinse out the potion jar and replace just your potion liquid back into the jar

    - To drink your potion: Take 1tsp diluted into water as a shot or take 1tsp in half a cup of hot water with honey/maple syrup to taste (a generous tbsp at least!). You can take your potion at night if it's a sleepy potion or if your potion supports your immune system and you're feeling under the weather you can take your potion up to 3 times in the day.

    - The potions are shelf stable and do not need to be kept in the fridge and they pretty much last until you've drunk them all as they are fermented they don't really go off.

YUM!! Please do get in touch and tell me how your potions go down.... add more honey if you need to!!

Potion Classes for

Festival Goers.

Professor Primrose and her team of potion masters are available to come to festivals and offer back to back potion classes for the festival goers.

I have a herbal stall that I have taken along to festivals before but the potion classes would be a new offering I'm looking to explore into the festival world.

With a stretch tent as cover and trestle tables set up for the classes ..... Folks can come along and learn all about herbs in a family friendly educational 1hr session.

I can also offer foraging walks or herbal talks at events or festivals alongside this.
